Entry requirements

112-128 UCAS tariff points at Level 3, which would normally include at least two subject areas including Music or Performance or an alternative relevant subject area plus GCSE English and Maths (A*-C).

We require:

  • a minimum of grade 6 performance on your first instrument or voice

Unless you have been studying on a recognised music technology course, we will ask you to provide a portfolio consisting of two or three tracks, together with a detailed report on how they were recorded, and your involvement in the process. To find out more, see the How to apply tab above which includes 'Tips on Applying'.

International students need to meet our English language requirement at either IELTS at 6.0 or above and a minimum of 5.5 for each of the 4 individual components (Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening).

In some countries where teaching is in English, we may accept local qualifications. Please visit http://www.uwl.ac.uk/international/your-country to check for local equivalencies.

We offer pre-sessional English language courses if you do not meet these requirements. Find out more about our English Language courses
