The University of Northampton was granted its university status in 2005 and is based over two campuses located in and around Northampton. The university is home to just under 14,000 students and has most recently been ranked 61 in the 2016 Guardian University League Tables.
The university is split into 6 academic schools, each delivering relevant courses. These are:
- Northampton Business School
- The School of Education
- The School of Health
- School of Science & Technology
- School of Social Sciences
- School of the Arts
Both campuses have a student’s union, which are responsible for providing social events for the students. At the Park Campus you will find daytime bars and food outlets as well as a nightclub venue hosting live bands and DJ’s. On the Avenue Campus you will also find a recently refurbished bar and diner.
The university has over 50 sports clubs and societies for students to take part in, and 24 of the sports clubs participate in the BUCS league (British University & Colleges Sport) on a Wednesday afternoon. Societies are mainly interest based, but there are also some faith-based societies.
Students can opt to live in student halls of residence on campus for their first year of study and these generally cost between £60 and £130 per week depending on the amenities you choose.
