This course is delivered by the AACSB accredited Business School, an accreditation which places us within the top institutions globally for business degrees. Less than 5% of business schools worldwide have attained this hallmark of excellence which recognises a focus on excellence in all areas, including teaching and student learning.
This degree introduces you to the key principles and practices of accounting and business, giving you a strong foundation in the financial expertise, analytical skills, and strategic insight needed to pursue a career in the financial sector. There is considerable crossover between accounting and business management, and as such gaining an understanding of both fields will serve you well.
The course boasts global industry accreditations and exemptions for accountancy qualifications, meaning you might not need to take all the exams required to become a Chartered Accountant. Another distinctive quality of this degree is its flexibility, all the first year units are the same, giving you flexibility to transfer to another pathway at the end of the first year. You’ll also have the option to study abroad at one of our international partner institutions during the second semester of the second year; currently we have partners in Australia, Canada and Europe.
In your third year, you can complete a 30-week placement anywhere in the world, adding invaluable workplace context to the theoretical framework forged in the classroom. Even better, you’ll be creating a useful network of professional contacts at the same time.
