Events Management (with Foundation Year option) BA (Hons)

To succeed in events management you’ll need an expert grasp of event marketing, financial reporting, project planning, event bidding and consumer behaviour – all of which can be learnt in an exciting degree that offers you the opportunity to tailor your study to your chosen event management interests.

Accredited by the Chartered Institute of Marketing, the Association for Project Management, the Institute of Travel and Tourism and the Institute of Data and Marketing, this four-year course primes you with theoretical knowledge and the practical skillset needed to create and oversee events as diverse as product launches, fundraisers, corporate meetings, personal gatherings and mega-events like the Olympic Games.

During your studies, you’ll get the opportunity to organise real-world events with other students, and in year three you’ll complete a 30-week work placement to build a network of professional contacts, bolster your CV, and ultimately enhance your employability. You’ll also have the opportunity to study abroad at one of our many partner institutions.

In your final year, you’ll have a large range of options to study, allowing you to style your curriculum to suit your interests, passions and career goals. You’ll also benefit from a dynamic mix of guest lecturers, visits to local and regional event venues and real-life case studies.

Events management is a varied and exciting field, and this degree will prepare you for a wide range of careers thanks to the transferable skills you will develop. Our graduates are working in events, marketing, communications, PR, sales and HR.

Undergraduate students who will successfully complete the Digital Marketing unit have the opportunity to achieve the IDM qualification level 4 Certificate in Digital Marketing, as a result of exemptions awarded by the IDM for the Digital Marketing unit.
