Midwifery (20 month programme) BMid (Hons)

The 20 month BMid (Hons) Short Pre-registration Midwifery course at Swansea University is aimed at NMC registered nurses.

You will graduate as a highly skilled professional with the clinical expertise and interpersonal skills to ensure a woman's physical and emotional well-being during pregnancy, childbirth and early parenthood. The course has been designed to build upon your strengths as a student midwife so you become a professional and motivated practitioner.

You will develop a heightened level of self-awareness and sensitivity towards women and families throughout the programme. The Midwifery and Reproductive Health team offers a broad range of experience and subject interest. In partnership with other disciplines, our well-established research culture supports evidence-based practice.

The course develops creativity and originality of expression and the ability to analyse and make use of research. You are also taught how to evaluate and critique research studies, so they become thoughtful and critical users of research in practice.
