Theatre and Performance Studies MA

Enhance and consolidate your skills as a scholar-practitioner of performance. This practical course combines intensive studio-based research with rigorous academic study, emphasising current practice throughout.

You'll study areas including devised performance and live art, community and applied theatres, new playwriting, classic texts on the contemporary stage, and documentary and verbatim theatre.

Improve both your research and performance skills by working with practising theatre-makers and arts organisations. We have a fully-equipped theatre workshop and studio spaces, a publicly licensed drama studio, and excellent editing and recording facilities.

Our teaching team has strong links with many major venues, theatre companies and practitioners, with Sheffield previously named best theatre city outside London.

This course is well suited to professional theatre practitioners, graduates, teachers, and anyone who wishes to advance their creative abilities.
