About the School
Westminster Business School, the University of Westminster, located in the heart of London, is one of the largest centres for business and management education in the UK. The School offers number of specialist business Undergraduate Courses which are accredited or recognised by the relevant professional association.
The School is also engaged in conducting applied research that is relevant to all areas of business, and much of which has gained an international reputation. Finally we have built a reputation for enterprise, knowledge transfer in the London region and work with public and private organisations across the UK.
We are London's leading professionally focused and research-informed business school.
The School is cosmopolitan, having a diverse student population representing over 100 nationalities, which reflects London's demographic variety and nearly a third of our full-time students come from outside the UK.
Our staff too are drawn from many countries, and every year we welcome visiting scholars and researchers from all over the world. Although we are a school with a strongly international outlook, we also draw on a long tradition of providing part-time courses for Londoners. For nearly 80 years the School has served the needs of busy professionals and business people living or working in the capital giving our full-time students a unique opportunity to network with active business community.
Our strong links with the London business and government enable us to bring practitioners and headline-makers into the classroom on a regular basis. In turn we help arrange student placements, internships and mentoring which give our students an important hands-on experience and involvement with the world of work.
The School has growing research and consultancy strengths in a range of areas, including employment research, financial services and international finance, leadership, and business strategy. We host conferences; workshops, seminars and other events open to the public, and regard the dissemination of new ideas to the outside world as an important part of our function.
We have a wide range of specialised taught and research business Masters Courses created to fit current and developing requirements of the professional business community. These include specialisms in:
Accounting, Finance and Economics
Business and Management
Human Resource Management
Property and Construction
All of our courses are designed to incorporate an international flavour to the subject matter and because of the modular nature of our programmes, options can often be taken from the whole range of the Westminster Business School postgraduate portfolio.
The School is on the University's Marylebone Campus, close to Baker Street tube station and opposite Madame Tussaud's wax museum. We have a building to match our aspirations. A superb modern library, hi-tech lecture halls and teaching spaces, IT computer labs and comfortable study spaces reserved for our postgraduates. All in all, a great place to study.
We are one of only three business schools in the UK with the purpose-built Bloomberg Financial Markets Suite (FMS) exclusively utilising the Bloomberg platform for the purpose of providing a state-of-the-art teaching and research resource. Students, staff and researchers gain firsthand exposure to technology widely adopted in all the leading global investment banks in the major financial centres of the world: the City of London, New York's Wall Street and Tokyo's Citibanks.
