Entry Requirements For This Course

Applicants from a UK educational background:

You will require one of the following:

  • A foundation degree in early years with a grade point average of at least 55%
  • A relevant HND at Merit level
  • An undergraduate honours degree in another discipline.

Applicants from a non-UK educational background:

You will require an equivalent to one of the following:

  • A foundation degree in early years with a grade point average of at least 55%
  • A relevant HND at Merit level
  • An undergraduate honours degree in another discipline.

If you were educated in a language other than English and/or in a country where English speakers are in a minority, you should have a minimum IELTS score of 7.0 (with a minimum of 6.5 in each skill) or equivalent. If you require a Tier 4 (General) student visa to study in the UK, your score must be from a UK Visas and Immigration approved IELTS test.

In addition:

If you are undertaking Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS)  alongside the BA Hons Early Years Top Up, you will be required to:

  • Have GCSE English, maths and science with a minimum of grade C orrecognised equivalent before commencing the programme
  • Attend an interview
  • Pass Professional Skills tests in numeracy and literacy before beginning the programme
  • Undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service check and an occupational health screening.
