This qualification is specially intended for students from outside Wales (or for Welsh students who have not previously studies the Welsh language and its literature). Taught modules account for 120 credits, and the dissertation (less than 20,000 words) for a further 60 credits. The dissertation may be submitted at any time between the September following the examinations and one year thereafter. Candidates will study three core modules, The Four Branches of the Mabinogi, Welsh Language I and II, and two further modules from among the following: The Earliest Welsh Poetry, The Englynion Cycles, Arthurian Literature, Medieval Welsh Law. Dafydd ap Gwilym, Comparative Celtic Literature.
