This programme is designed for students who wish to pursue the study of art through art practice and art history and who wish to become professional artists and/or art historians. It is particularly appropriate for those who feel that their practice is enhanced by their interests in art history and equally, for those art historians with sufficient experience, who feel that the study of the subject is greatly enhanced by a sound knowledge of methods, materials and techniques. Part 1 (October- May) comprises the modules Portfolio, Exhibition 1, Vocational Practice, Art and Visual Culture (B), and Part 2 (June-September) the Dissertation module.
(Transferring Courses: The MA in Fine Art and Art History and the MA in Fine Art share a common Part 1. Students can consider which route to take in Part 2 by opting for the Dissertation module which leads to the MA in Fine Art and Art History, or the Exhibition 2 module which leads to the MA in Fine Art.)
