Modern Languages and Cultures MA

The course is designed to allow you the flexibility to specialise in a single area, or follow a broader path taking in different areas of interest.

You can specialise in French Studies, Germanic Studies, Hispanic Studies, Catalan Studies, Latin American Studies, or Russian and Slavonic Studies.

Alternatively, you can take a broader path. For example, you could do your dissertation on a topic in Germanic Studies, and also take a directed reading module in Translation, Intercultural Communication Studies or another subject area.

Our work spans identity studies, gender studies, linguistics, politics, visual cultures, migration and literary studies. You can find details of staff research interests on our website, which will help you to select a potential supervisor for your dissertation.
