University of Surrey

The University of Surrey is located in the South East of England in Guildford. It focuses its studies in science, engineering, medicine and business. The University gained its status in 1966 and was previously located in South-West London under the name of Battersea College of Technology.

The main University Campus can be found on Stag Hill near the centre of Guildford, and the second campus is located at Manor Park. Manor Park has been created to develop new facilities for students including accommodation, academic buildings and sporting facilities.

The University of Surrey is frequently ranked highly by institutions such as the Guardian and the Times Higher Education. It is also renowned for its graduate employment rates, which were recorded at 96.9% in 2014, which is higher than Oxbridge and King's College London.

Surrey pride themselves on their international capabilities with international partners including universities in Brazil, South Korea, USA, China, Hong Kong, Mexico and Austria. They share teaching, research facilities and also offer student exchanges with some of these partners.

Outside of academic studies, students at the University of Surrey can become involved with the Student’s Union that operate many sports clubs, societies and annual Balls such as the Colours Ball and the Graduation Ball.
