Mathematics with Secondary Education (QTS) BSc (Hons)

Mathematics with Secondary Education (QTS) is part of an exciting collaboration between Kent and the Faculty of Education at Canterbury Christ Church University.

You can specialise in mathematics and statistics while developing as a creative and reflective teacher at secondary level.

You spend Year 1 studying alongside students on the BSc Mathematics programme at the University of Kent. We offer small group tutorials to help you with the transition from school to university-level maths.

In Year 2, you attend the compulsory Mathematics Education module at Canterbury Christ Church. In addition, you continue studying a range of mathematics modules at Kent.

During Year 3, most of your modules take place at Christ Church. But you also have the opportunity to undertake a project related to mathematics teaching at the University of Kent during the spring term.

Please refer to the Canterbury Christ Church University website for more information about the structure of this programme.

You have access to professional mathematical and statistical software such as Maple and R.

Through Kent's Templeman Library you also have access to a wide range of topical journals and books in hard copy and digital format.

Your designated academic advisor provides guidance for your academic and professional development throughout your studies. You can also receive academic peer mentoring in your second year.

There are a number of student-led societies at Kent which you may want to join, for instance, the Kent Maths Society.
