Mathematics is present in almost every aspect of our lives. Whether it's making mobile phones secure, predicting the weather, optimising investments in financial markets or helping an endangered species survive, mathematics is key.

Our world is becoming increasingly data-driven, so the demand for mathematicians with expertise in handling and interpreting data continues to grow.

Accredited by the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications, the professional society for qualified and practising mathematicians, this maths degree provides a solid grounding in the methods of modern mathematics and will uncover the intrinsic beauty of mathematical ideas.

Our lecturers will provide you with a supportive environment during your studies allowing you to focus on fulfilling your potential. You'll become an expert in logical thinking and develop refined problem-solving skills, which are highly valued by employers. This maths course will equip you with the skills to pursue a career in industry, government institutions, academia, or the teaching profession.

We also o?er an MMath degree, where you study to Masters level as part of an undergraduate programme. This allows top-performing students to distinguish themselves with advanced skills.

Entry Requirements For This Course

An interview is required for this course. Those applying will be provided with further details if successful at the initial selection stage.

This Maths degree is also offered through a combined Bachelors and Masters level study package - MMath. With just one additional year of full-time study, you'll gain greater breadth and depth of mathematics skills and techniques relevant to practicing mathematicians. You'll study advanced topics in applicable mathematics, statistics and pure mathematics - giving you the best chance of landing your dream job after graduation.

You can opt to initially enrol on the undergraduate Bachelors Honours degree, and progress to MMath if you achieve satisfactory grades in your assessments during your first two years of study. Alternatively, you can apply for direct entry to the MMath course, which is ideal if you know you want to study at postgraduate level.

Typical A-Level Offer - BBB to include Mathematics.

Typical Welsh BACC Offer - Grade B and BB at A Level to include a B grade in Mathematics

Typical BTEC Offer - N/A

Typical IB Offer - Pass the International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum score of 29 overall including a score of 6 in Mathematics at Higher Level. You will also need to obtain a score of 5 or above in English at standard level.

Typical Access to HE Offer - Pass an Access to HE Diploma in Maths and obtain a minimum of 80 UCAS tariff points

Additional Requirements - GCSEs: The University normally requires a minimum 5 GCSEs including Mathematics/Numeracy and English at Grade C or Grade 4 or above, or their equivalent, but consideration is given to individual circumstances.
