Studying for your first degree.

Degree Level Courses: Undergraduate

If you have completed your A-levels or equivalent further education, the common next step in education is to study for your first degree. These courses are usually known as Bachelors degrees in Arts (BA) or Science (BSc). Undergraduate degree courses typically take three years to complete and may involve a sandwich year in industry.

Central will be hosting an online information day for our Theatre Practice courses on Wednesday 28th October 2020.This open day is for those interested in the following courses:Costume Construction Design for Performance Production Lighting Prop Making Scenic Painting for Stage and Screen Set Construction for Stage and Screen Stage Management and Technical Theatre Lighting Design Theatre SoundThis event gives you the opportunity to find out how study is enabled on all nine of our Theatre Practice courses via industry placements, specially funded projects (both nationally and internationally) and mentoring from both Central’s permanent staff and vast body of visiting professional lecturers. There will also be an opportunity to ask any questions that you have to our lecturers as well as hear from our Student Advice Service.Please note - if you wish to apply for BA (Hons) Acting, this event will not provide you with information on your course of interest and no staff or students will be around to talk to you about this area of study. All students applying for BA (Hons) Acting will be invited to an audition; the audition doubles up as an Open Day.

At our Open Days we welcome everyone to experience a day in the life of a vibrant community focused University where you are known by name and not a number. We've got live music, a musical theatre showcase, dance classes, a theatre and acting workshop, sports lab sessions and sample lectures so you can picture yourself at the University of Chichester. Campus and accommodation tours will be running throughout the day and all our facilities will be open for you to explore. Our friendly student ambassadors are on hand to share their experience of life at University and how to prepare for it, so ask them anything as they are there to give you their insight. You will also be able to chat one-to-one with our academics in our Meet and Greet Zone and our student support staff in our Student Advice Zone. This is your opportunity to ask our students and staff anything to ensure you make the right decision for your future. People really matter here and we hope you get a sense of what we can offer you by coming to one of our Open Days.
