Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU)

Glasgow Caledonian University was established in 1993 and is situated in Glasgow, Scotland.It has a league table ranking of 83 and has campuses in London, New York and Glasgow.

With over 20,000 students, the University offers a variety of academic courses, including law, business, microbiology and nursing studies. There are three schools.

The three schools are;

  • School of Engineering and Built Environment
  • Glasgow School for Business and Society
  • School of Health and Life Sciences

Glasgow Caledonian University students’ union boasts a radio station, advice centre and computer workstations. Their 60 student led societies include culture, volunteering and religion, as well as 35 sports clubs to participate in.

Sports facilities at the University contain fitness equipment and an outdoor area for football, netball and tennis. A bursary programme for sports is available for high performing students, while sports students can use the Caledonian Clinic for massage and physiotherapy.

First year undergraduates can reside in Glasgow Caledonian accommodation or a private let. With over 660 places, Caledonian Court is the on campus home, comprising of 100 furnished flats for 6 to 8 individuals. Prices range from £98 to £111 per week, which includes heating, electricity and internet connection. Students can make a payment of £650 in advance, once an unconditional, full time offer is confirmed.
