Entry Requirements For This Course

Students admitted to the MRes Finance programme will normally have achieved high marks on a postgraduate degree in finance or a related field comparable to the School’s MSc Finance and Econometrics in terms of content and quality. In particular, they should have a thorough knowledge of financial economics and econometrics at the MSc level. A good knowledge of topics in mathematics and statistical theory relevant to finance (including univariate and multivariate calculus, constrained optimization, linear algebra, and probability theory) is also essential.

Please note that applicants to the PhD programme are automatically re-routed to the MRes Economics or MRes Finance (as appropriate) unless they already hold a comparable post-MSc qualification.

Applications for admission should include an application form, full transcripts (showing marks for individual courses) from all undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, GRE results (obtained in last five years), contact details of two referees who can assess your academic potential, and a research proposal of no more than 1000 words.

No additional application material is needed to be considered for financial support but explicit reference should be made on the application if financial support is sought.
