The University of Warwick was established in 1965, with its Business School opening in 1967 and its Medical School opening in the year 2000.
Warwick is well known for its excellence in research and teaching, as well as its innovative character and industry links. They are consistently ranked highly in the University League Tables, and have most recently been named the 6th best University in the UK by the Guardian 2016 University Rankings, climbing 3 places over last year to be on par with Durham University.
The University is split up into 4 schools:
- Arts
- Medicine
- Sciences
- Social Sciences
These are further divided into 32 departments.
The main University campus is very lively, and provides students and staff with shops, banks, bars and restaurants. There are also some other excellent facilities including the Warwick Arts Centre and the University Sports Centre.
The University is proud to have one of the largest student unions in the UK, with over 250 societies and over 70 sports clubs, offering a variety of non-academic activities for students.
