Located in Poole, Dorset, the Arts University Bournemouth became an official university in 2012. It has a league table ranking of 59 in the Times Higher Education League Table Rankings 2015, and is renowned for its art background.
The University has almost 3,000 students on a variety of academic courses, including fashion, architecture, film production and model making. There are two faculties.
The two faculties are;
- Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture
- Faculty of Media and Performance
The Arts University Bournemouth boasts a student’s union offering a host of events, including fresher’s week. There are several societies to join, including eco, dance, life drawing and writing.
There are also a few sports clubs, such as football, rugby, netball and trampolining.
Sports facilities at The Arts University Bournemouth are limited, however, there is a student gym and four sports centres in the area for students to use. Furthermore, an Olympic sized velodrome is situated close by.
A range of accommodation options are offered, with students able to reside in halls, rented or shared housing. 450 rooms are available in halls and priority is given to those from overseas and disabled students. The halls of residence are priced from £115 per week for a single en-suite room to £145 per week for a self-contained studio.
