The University of Northampton was granted its university status in 2005 and is based over two campuses located in and around Northampton. The university is home to just under 14,000 students and has most recently been ranked 61 in the 2016 Guardian University League Tables.
The university is split into the following 3 key academic faculties, each delivering relevant courses:
- Health, Education and Society (FHES)
- Faculty of Business and Law (FBL)
- Faculty of Arts, Science and Technology (FAST)
The university has over 50 sports clubs and societies for students to take part in, and 24 of the sports clubs participate in the BUCS league (British University & Colleges Sport) on a Wednesday afternoon. Societies are mainly interest based, but there are also some faith-based societies.
Students can opt to live in student halls of residence on campus for their first year of study and these generally cost between £82 and £162 per week depending on the amenities you choose.
