The University of the West of England, Bristol is situated close to the city of Bristol and achieved its university status in 1992. There are three main campuses and the university has been ranked 79 in the UK by the Guardian University League Tables 2016.
There are currently over 27,000 students studying over 600 courses at UWE, ranging from animal behaviour and welfare, healthcare science and history to interior design and journalism.
The university has four main faculties. The four faculties are;
- Arts, Creative Industries and Education
- Business and Law
- Environment and Technology
- Health and Applied Sciences
UWE Bristol has a student’s union boasting over 1,000 reps. Students can join over 160 clubs and societies and a new centre for the union was unveiled in 2015.
With a variety of sports activities on offer, the university caters for football, squash, climbing and gym based activities. Facilities include an indoor climbing wall, gymnasium and astro turf pitches.
The university offers accommodation over all campuses with a range of rooms and amenities available. Prices vary depending on which accommodation you choose, with prices beginning at £4187 per academic year for a standard room at The Hollies on Glenside campus to £7699 per academic year for a studio flat at The Harbour Court on City Centre campus.
