Entry Requirements For This Course

This programme is available only to candidates working towards the Higher Apprenticeship for Laboratory Scientists (Analytical Science or Life Sciences specialisms). Individual employers will set the selection criteria for their apprentices. Most candidates will have achieved grade C or above in English and mathematics at GCSE level prior to commencement of the apprenticeship. Most candidates will also hold A-levels or existing relevant Level 3 qualifications or equivalent. Other relevant or prior experience may also be considered as an alternative.

CREDITS AND ACCREDITED PRIOR LEARNING (APL)

If you have studied at university previously, you may have accumulated credits through the modules you studied. It may be possible to transfer these credits from your previous study to Birkbeck or another institution. You should discuss this with the Programme Director when you are making your application.
