Children's Nursing BSc (Hons)

During the course, you’ll learn about all aspects of nursing, child development and how to provide evidence-based care for children and young people with a range of different needs. You’ll engage with service users, practising nurses and other healthcare professionals through a blend of placements, classes and online learning.

Qualifications needed for 2025

For BSc (Hons)

The typical requirement for this course is 120–136 UCAS points, preferably with some health and science subjects studied. You could achieve this with:

  • A-levels: BBB
  • BTEC Extended Diploma: Distinction Distinction Merit
  • Access to HE course: 122 UCAS points, normally with 30 Distinctions, 9 Merits and 6 at Pass

You’ll also need GCSEs at grade C/4 or above in English and mathematics. We accept equivalent qualifications, such as Functional/Key skills Level 2 in numeracy and literacy. 

For BSc (Hons) with Foundation Year

  • UCAS tariff points: 64
