Investing for your success
We’re investing in our research and facilities, which means we’re also investing in you and your success.
More than £60m has been invested since 2008 and Phase 1 of our latest development, a new £8.5 million Science building, is now complete and will open in January. Phase 2 includes a new sports complex with enhanced gym facilities, sports hall and café.
Small group, research-led teaching is supported by personal development opportunities, including field trips, a Research Skills Programme (Postgraduate Research students) or Research Phase (Postgraduate Taught), an annual Poster Day and a Postgraduate Student Conference.
Research
In the 2014 Research Excellence Framework, 55 per cent of our academic staff submitted research and more than a third of this was rated as 'world leading' or 'internationally excellent'.
Research Outputs were rated as ‘world leading’ in eight Units of Assessment – English, Psychology, History, Music, Education, Sport and Exercise Science, Theology and Social Work and Social Policy. The Times Higher Education ranked Liverpool Hope as fourth in the North West for Research Intensity.
Postgraduate students are encouraged to get involved with one of our many research centres or projects, along with the University’s postgraduate seminar series.
Facilities
With dedicated postgraduate study space, places for quiet or social learning, and areas for presentation practice, there’s always somewhere for you to focus on your work.
The Sheppard-Worlock Library and Creative Campus Library contain a core print collection of over 350,000 items, and students have access to special collections and extensive online resources.
More than 1,000 PCs located across campus, including in the library, open access spaces and computer labs, can be used when teaching isn’t taking place.
