What is online learning?
Distance learning allows you to earn a LIBF degree entirely online, at your own pace, with full flexibility. With their innovative digital learning platform, you can study from the comfort of your home or on the go and take exams online at a time that suits you – making it possible to combine your studies with a full-time job or other commitments.
What is blended learning?
Blended learning combines online learning with in-person classes on campus in London. You'll benefit from structured timetabled classes while still having 24/7 access to LIBF's digital learning platform, allowing you to watch recorded lectures and access study materials anytime, from anywhere. This reduces the time you'll spend in lectures on campus, so you can maximise your time on campus to collaborate with your classmates and get in-person support from your lecturer.
The history of LIBF
Back in 1879, there were no qualifications for bank workers and few opportunities to progress. United by the need for professional recognition for their skills and experience, a small group of banking professionals set up the first Institute of Bankers in England and Wales, which later became LIBF. Today, LIBF provides students all around the world with everything they need to learn flexibly through online or blended courses and is the only professional body in the world with taught degree awarding powers. They have a global community of students and alumni spanning over 130 countries.
Visa
International students outside of the UK who wish to study a blended learning course at LIBF will need a student visa. This visa also allows you to work up to 20 hours per week during term time and full-time during holidays. This allows you to gain additional income, develop invaluable industry experience and employability skills, and build your professional network in London's strong job market. Once you've completed your blended degree, you can apply for a 2-year graduate visa, which allows you to stay in the UK to look for a job in your field of study.
Life & Culture in the UK
The UK offers a vibrant and diverse culture, with its multicultural cities, landscapes and rich history. London, the site of LIBF's main campus, is a hub for arts, culture, and business. Studying in such a historically diverse city allows students from all over the globe to be integrated into a melting pot of cultures. Furthermore, it enhances your networking sphere via its part-time jobs and graduate roles in one of the world’s leading financial hubs.
Facilities & Campus
Located in the heart of London, LIBF's campus boasts an extensive range of facilities, including modern classrooms, study lounges, Wi-Fi, computers and a library with a wealth of publications. The international and student-friendly setting fosters academic learning and peer interaction, making the LIBF campus a great place to learn and grow.
Health Care
Once you arrive in the UK, it is recommended that you register with a local doctor (General Practitioner or GP). As part of the student visa process, you will be required to pay an immigration health surcharge, which gives you access to the National Health Service (NHS) in the same way UK residents have. This covers most health care, although there can be charges for dental treatment and medicines.
Academic Support
Ensuring your academic success is a cornerstone of LIBF's approach. Their dedicated tutors are always ready to support you, offering guidance to understand complex concepts and overcome study challenges. You'll also have access to their extensive online library services and various resources to enhance your knowledge base. Furthermore, their digital learning platform allows you to learn at a pace and place that suits you, fostering self-paced learning, peer interaction, and direct engagement with tutors.
Career Support
Beyond academics, LIBF places significant emphasis on your career progression. Through their Careers and Employability service, you can access valuable resources like CV workshops, mock interviews, and personalised career advice. Exposure to industry talks, careers fairs, and networking events offers a firm grasp of the UK job market, enabling you to make informed career choices. From honing job application skills to broadening your professional network, LIBF's career support steers you confidently towards your desired career path.
