Teesside University

Teesside University was founded in 1930 and is located in Middlesbrough, with a second campus in Darlington. Overall, the university has a league table ranking of 91 according to the Guardian 2016 university league tables.

Just over 18,000 students are enrolled on a variety of courses, such as law, dance, performing arts and digital storytelling. The University has five academic schools.

The five schools are:

  • School of Arts and Media
  • School of Computing
  • School of Health and Social Care
  • School of Science and Engineering
  • School of Social Sciences, Business and Law

The student union at Teesside University won the gold award for its social premises in the Best Bar None Awards 2015. The student union bar and hub was developed in 2014, providing shopping, eating and advice facilities.

Sports fans will enjoy studying at Teesside University due to its new fitness centre boasting state of the art equipment, sauna and steam room. Local beaches, hiking areas and surfing provisions all reside close by, providing ample opportunity for sports entertainment.

The University has student housing for first year undergraduates both on campus and close by, with a range of options available. Prices vary from £57.45 for shared accommodation to £98.40 for a single en-suite room.
