The Creative Writing course gives you the opportunity to develop the skills and techniques to become a creative writer in poetry, drama and fiction (flashes, short stories, novels), and also to write critically. You will learn how your own work fits into the wider world of literature and contemporary publishing.

Entry Requirements For This Course

UCAS - 112 points.

GCE A Level - 112 UCAS points from GCE A Levels or equivalent. Typical offer - BCC/BBC. Specific subjects/grades required for entry: (Drama & Theatre Studies or Performing Arts) and (English Language or English - Language & Literature or English Literature or Creative Writing).

BTEC - Accepted in addition to A level English Language/Literature/Combined along with A level Drama & Theatre Studies, Performing Arts, Performance Studies or Theatre Studies (or equivalent).

Irish/Scottish Highers - Accepted in addition to A level Drama & Theatre Studies, Performing Arts, Performance Studies or Theatre Studies along with English Language/Literature/Combined (or equivalent).

International Baccalaureate - 26 Points Including English and Theatre at HL 5 or above.

Access requirements - Access to HE Diploma, to include 45 credits at level 3, of which 30 must be at Merit or above (15 of which must be in English).

OCR - Accepted in addition to A level Drama & Theatre Studies, Performing Arts, Performance Studies or Theatre Studies along with English Language/Literature/Combined (or equivalent).

Extra Information / General Entry Requirements - Please note that we accept a maximum of 8 UCAS points from GCE AS Levels and that the Welsh Baccalaureate (core) and A Level General Studies will be recognised in our offer. We will also consider a combination of A Levels and BTECs/OCRs.
