Immunology is the study of our defence systems against infectious agents such as viruses, bacteria, fungi and parasites. Despite being highly efficient, our immune system can also act against us, and we will cover autoimmunity and organ transplantation. We will also look at the development of exciting new drugs based on antibodies or manipulation of the immune system.
