Located just five minutes away from Cardiff city centre, the University of Cardiff was founded in 1883 and its buildings, accommodation and student union are situated very closely to each other. The University of Cardiff has a Guardian league table ranking of 27 and is a member of the Russell group.
With over 30,000 students, there are a range of courses with many offering a placement or a year abroad. The university has courses ranging from business to law and there are three faculties.
These three faculties are;
- Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences
- Faculty of Biomedical and Life Sciences
- Faculty of Physical Sciences
Other than academic studies, the University of Cardiff boasts an active student union with over 180 societies. You’ll find charity societies, media and even religious groups to participate in. If you don’t find one that suits you, you can also create your own.
The University of Cardiff has four sports centres across its campus. There are 33 acres of sports fields and also 60 sports clubs for those who love participating in activities. Furthermore, there is a sports bursary for those demonstrating exceptional sports potential.
Most first year undergraduates are guaranteed accommodation. There are a range of residences to suit all budgets with prices starting from around £3,900 for the academic year for self-catered, shared accommodation to around £5,000 (per academic year) for part catered, en-suite rooms.
