Entry Requirements For This Course

Entry requirements

The entry requirements for the Graduate Diploma course are:

  • An honours degree in psychology which does not provide eligibility for the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC; formerly known as the Graduate Basis for Registration (GBR)) with the British Psychological Society (BPS).
  • An ordinary degree in psychology.
  • A honours degree in a subject other than psychology.
  • In addition to the above, all applicants would normally be expected to demonstrate that they have covered the equivalent of at least 60 credits of psychology on an honours degree or equivalent credits. Forty of these credits should be in Research Methods/Statistics, at Level 4 or equivalent.

Applicants will also normally be required to have a grade C in mathematics to GCSE (or equivalent) level.

Students who do not have 60 credits are required to take a preparatory course such as Graduate Certificate in Psychology.

International students need to meet our English language requirement: minimum IELTS at 7.0 or equivalent, e.g. students who have obtained previous qualification (e.g. bachelor degree) which is taught and assessed entirely in English.

Contact our International Office to find out what international qualifications you need to get onto a course.
