Entry requirements
Applicants must hold, or be eligible for, the Graduate Basis for Chartered membership (GBC) of the
British Psychological Society (BPS) with usually an upper second or first class award. Applicants who do not have an upper second award may be considered if they:
- Can demonstrate evidence of practical experience relevant to Health Psychology.
- Have attained an additional qualification relevant to Health Psychology.
- Can show evidence of attainments during their undergraduate degree which indicate particular strengths in Health Psychology.
If you are not eligible for the Graduate Basis for Chartered membership (GBC) of the British Psychological Society, you may wish to apply for a place on our Graduate Diploma in Psychology. The Diploma offers a fast route to eligibility for GBC - the first step towards becoming a Chartered Psychologist.
International students need to meet our English language requirement at either IELTS at 7.0 or above, and a minimum of 7.0 for each of the 4 individual components (Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening).
In some countries where teaching is in English, we may accept local qualifications. Please visit http://www.uwl.ac.uk/international/your-country to check for local equivalencies.
We offer pre-sessional English language courses if you do not meet these requirements. Find out more about our English Language courses
