Edge Hill University is located in Ormskirk, Lancashire and is only thirty minutes away from Manchester by car. The university was originally established in 1885, and currently has a league table ranking of 82 according to the Guardian University League Tables 2016.
The university is home to around 16,000 studying a range of courses such as biosciences, history, music and social work. There are three faculties within the university.

The student union at Edge Hill University offers a multitude of facilities, including a shop, dining outlets, magazine, television channel and radio station. Furthermore, there are several societies and sports clubs with belly dancing, skydiving and football being just a few of the options on offer.
Sports facilities at Edge Hill University include a gym, sports hall and a sports centre opening in 2015 containing a 25m swimming pool, steam room, studio and sauna.
The university offers several accommodation options for students. Halls of residence have both catered and self-catered options with prices varying depending on the type of room you choose. Prices range from between £65 per week for a self-catered room and £112 per week for a self-catered room with en-suite. Catered rooms in hall of residence are £101 per week.
