University College London (UCL)

University College London was founded in 1826, and was the first University to be established in London. The main University campus is located in the Bloomsbury area of London, with a number of other academic buildings based throughout central London.

UCL is highly respected by other institutions and is often ranks highly in university league tables. It is currently ranks as 12th best University in the UK in the Guardian 2016 League Tables.

There is a total of 11 Faculties at University College London, offering a range of different degree level courses. Students have the choice of courses including the Arts & Humanities, Brain Sciences, Mathematics and Law.

In 2013 UCL had 28,859 students, with 43% of this total population being from outside of the UK. The University is internationally integrated, offering services to students that cannot achieve a degree in their own country, and they were the first institution to offer international places in the UK. The University are proud to confirm that they have students from over 150 countries studying at UCL.

Outside of academic studies the students at University College London have access to the UCL Union. There are over 150 societies and clubs, including a film society and a debating society. In addition to this, the University runs more than 50 sports clubs including cross country, a boat club and cricket.
