The University of Edinburgh is the third most popular university in the UK in terms of volume of applicants, receiving around 45,000 applicants every year. Edinburgh currently ranks 20th in the Guardian 2016 University League Tables, and has previously been ranked 17th in the world by the 2014-2015 QS rankings.
The University of Edinburgh is split into three colleges, containing 22 schools. The three colleges are:
- Humanities & Social Science
- Medicine & Veterinary Medicine
- Science & Engineering
At the University you will find 6 campus sites with a range of facilities available to students including 10 subject specific libraries, a sports centre and various Student’s Association run shops and cafes.
The University provide undergraduate students with 18 different accommodation options, ranging from £85 to £242 a week depending on the size and facilities of the room. There is also the option to live in catered accommodation at Pollock Halls, where there are around 2,000 rooms with half being en-suite.
For those students looking to partake in extracurricular activities, there are over 250 student societies, and almost 70 sports clubs including rugby, rowing and football.
