For the curious and the courageous our online BSc (Hons) Psychology course challenges your thinking and explores the way in which our minds function. You'll learn about the scientific and theoretical underpinnings of psychology as well as looking at several specialised areas. Developed and led by Chartered Psychologists, this recognised qualification prepares students for a wide range of careers and opportunities.

Our programme also has optional modules to pick from, so you can really tailor your own path and give yourself a taster of the roles which you may want to pursue in the future.

You will also benefit from undertaking a research project under supervision from a member of the teaching faculty…. have the chance to focus on a more specialised psychology topic of choice within your field.

Throughout this course, you'll explore a broad range of topics including:

  • the major developmental milestones from a variety of theoretical perspectives why people differ from one another
  • the principles of psycho and pharmacotherapeutic in the treatment of mental health
  • theories and methods in the field of social psychology
  • the role of memory as the mediator of cognitive processes

Finally, you'll be able to build on your research skills acquired during the programme through your final project on a psychology topic that is of personal interest to you.

Entry Requirements For This Course

We know that many people from non-traditional backgrounds would succeed on our courses! That's why we offer two different entry routes, taking into account your prior work experience and relevant qualifications. You will also need to meet our English Language Requirements.

You will need to pass your first assignment set within the first three weeks of the course in order to continue with your studies.

Academic entry route

In order to satisfy the academic entry route requirements for our BSc (Hons) Psychology, you must have the following qualifications as a minimum:

  • two A-levels or equivalent

Work experience entry route

In order to satisfy the work experience entry route requirements for our BSc (Hons) Psychology, you must meet the following criteria:

  • GCSE Maths and English at grade C or above, or equivalent
  • three years' relevant work experience

English language requirements

As our courses are delivered in English, a high proficiency with English is required. If English is not your first language, your English ability should be equivalent to an IELTS (Academic) score of 6.0. Don't worry if you don't hold an IELTS or equivalent qualification - we offer a free online English test to assess your proficiency.

You don't need to prove your English ability if you are a national of, or have completed a qualification equivalent to a UK degree in, any of these countries.

There may be instances where you don’t meet the requirements of the BSc (Hons) Psychology. So you still have the opportunity to complete the dissertation and be awarded a degree, you may be moved on to our non-accredited degree, the BSc (Hons) Psychological Studies.
