Why study BSc (Hons) Marine Ecology and Conservation (Top-up) at BU?

  • This course will provide new legislative contexts for conservation, as well as further fieldwork opportunities and chances to learn about the ecology of marine mammals
  • You will be introduced to new contexts for understanding conservation in the marine environment, such as UK habitat directives and legislation and policy frameworks
  • The majority of your teaching will take place at BU’s Talbot Campus, however you will undertake fieldwork and spend at least one day a week at Kingston Maurward College. 

For September 2021 entry: in order to take advantage of new approaches to learning and teaching, as well as developments in industry to benefit our students we regularly review all of our courses.This course is currently going through this process and we will update this page in March 2021 to give you full information about what we will be offering once the review process has concluded. 

The importance of marine conservation 

The importance of the conservation and management of marine and coastal environments cannot be ignored, as human intervention and climate change increasingly impact on the decline of fisheries and protected areas.

Entry Requirements For This Course

For September 2021 and September 2022 entry: Foundation Degree with 60% or above in a required subject or HND with Merit or above in a required subject.

Required subjects: Marine Ecology & Conservation, Marine Science.
