New for September 2021 entry, this course examines the nature of crime, its causes and the legal responses. Criminology and law are two complementing areas which allow you to investigate legal systems, criminal law and legal evidence, along with the often emotive issues surrounding crime, punishment and justice.
Criminology concerns the systematic study of crime, criminal behaviour and its causes and prevention. This course provides the opportunity to enrich your learning by studying law as a complementary subject. The study of law also exposes a wide range of subjects, methods and techniques some of which are specific to law, but some of which are drawn from the social sciences.
The BA (Hons) Criminology with Law degree will provide the ideal platform for those looking to work within the criminal justice system or in sectors where a broad knowledge of the law is useful, such as policing, prisons and probation services, as well as postgraduate study options.
