Entry Requirements For This Course

Year 1

Highers AAAB including A in language to be studied (over two sittings)
A-Levels BBB including B in language to be studied
Int. Baccalaureate 30 points with at least 5 in the language(s) to be studied.
HNC/HND Students who can demonstrate the required language skills will be considered.

Additional information

Entry routes As our Languages programmes include a compulsory year abroad at Level 3, the normal entry route for all Languages programmes is to Level 1 of a four-year Honours programme.
Intermediate 2 / National 5 / GCSE English is required for all Languages programmes.
Students may study one or two post-Higher/post-A-Level languages in their first two years, but must have an A at Higher or B at A-Level to do so.
English language requirements Students who are non-native speakers of English will need to achieve either the IELTS test with 7.0 or the CPE with C. The second language (French, German, Spanish, Chinese or Arabic) may be studied from a lower level.
