Established in 1920, Swansea University is based in the UK on the south west coast of Wales and is renowned for its research, excellent teaching, and diverse student community. The University is ranked 26th in the UK overall, 15th for Course Satisfaction and the Top University in Wales in the Guardian University Guide 2023.

The courses at Swansea are arranged into three Faculties including:
- The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences
- The Faculty of Medical, Health and Life Science
- The Faculty of Science and Engineering
Outside of academic life, the students are encouraged to take part in extracurricular activities such as over 150 societies and sports clubs. Joining a club or society is a great way to meet like-minded people and make new friends.
The union are also responsible for running many other amenities on campus including bars, nightclubs, a travel shop, a health centre, a laundrette, and plenty of shops and eateries.
The University provides halls of residences on campus in the student village and also in the city centre. There are around 3400 places available in the halls of residence, and if you are a first-year student you are given priority when rooms are allocated.
