Entry Requirements For This Course

Applicants from a UK educational background:

120 UCAS points from A-levels, of which no more than 12 points should come from AS-levels. 

We also accept equivalent qualifications, including:

  • BTEC/National Diploma
  • International Baccalaureate
  • Advanced and Progression Diplomas
  • Access courses.

GCSE English language, mathematics and a science with a minimum of grade C are also required.

Applicants from a non-UK educational background:

Applicants must have successfully completed 11 or 12 years of full time education, and demonstrated competence in English, mathematics and science (equivalent to GCSE grade C). 

If you were educated in a language other than English and/or in a country where English speakers are in a minority, you should have a minimum IELTS score of 7.5 (with a minimum of 7.0 in each skill) or equivalent. If you require a Tier 4 (General) student visa to study in the UK, your score must be from a UK Visas and Immigration approved IELTS test.

In addition
  • You should also have completed at least 20 days' paid or voluntary work in health and social care in activities relevant to paramedic practice. This must have been personally arranged and not have been part of a course. This must be discussed and reflected upon in your personal statement
  • You will be required to attend an interview
  • Applicants should have a full manual UK driving licence on application with no history of a serious driving offence or more than 3 points
  • You must also demonstrate an awareness of current issues in paramedic practice
