Entry Requirements For This Course
For entry at MSc Level one of the following:-
2nd class honours degree or equivalent including substantial academic knowledge of Computing or IT.Membership of an IT professional institution that normally requires an honours degree in Computer Science or IT for entry.Pass at an appropriate transfer mark in Postgraduate Diploma examinations. This is the transfer route where the normal level is that which would be a pass at MSc Level - in this case requiring an average mark of 50% for the taught courses, no course at less than a D and F21RP at 45% or more.For entry at Postgraduate Diploma Level one of the following:-
An honours degree or equivalent involving substantial academic study of Computing or IT.Membership of an IT professional institution that normally requires an ordinary degree for entry.HND or equivalent certified qualification equivalent to that suitable for entry into 3rd year of IT undergraduate degree PLUS 4 years of relevant post qualification experience in a job exercising skills in software engineering, IT, computer systems or database management with evidence of project leadership skills.HNC or equivalent certified qualification equivalent to that suitable for entry into 2nd year of IT undergraduate degree PLUS 6 years of relevant post qualification experience in a job exercising skills in software engineering, IT, computer systems or database management with strong evidence of proven project leadership skills.8 years of relevant experience in a job exercising skills in software engineering, IT, computer systems or database management at a project leader level PLUS either interview or pass in 2 courses on the programme and with the permission of the Dean.English language requirements
Important: If your first language is not English, or your first degree was not taught in English, we'll need to see evidence of your English language ability.
The minimum requirement for English language is IELTS 6.5, we also accept TOEFL (scores of 79 and higher).
We also offer a range of English language courses to help you meet the English language requirement prior to starting your master's programme:
- 14 weeks English (for IELTS of 5.5 with no more than one skill at 4.5);
- 10 weeks English (for IELTS of 5.5 with minimum of 5.0 in all skills);
- 6 weeks English (for IELTS 5.5 with minimum of 5.5 in reading & writing and minimum of 5.0 in speaking & listening)
