University of South Wales

The University of South Wales is one of the largest universities in the UK.

Our students benefit from superb courses, facilities and support, as well as our growing reputation as a major university for jobs and employers.

The University has campuses throughout south Wales, in Pontypridd, Cardiff and Newport, so you can enjoy everything the region has to offer – from city life and culture, to stunning beaches and breathtaking countryside.

Employability is at the heart of everything we do. We’ve even made employability part of the curriculum, with teaching informed by what happens in the real-world. We have a dedicated, central work placement team to help you find career-related work experience. As a result, 94% of our graduates are in employment or further study within six months of graduation, which is much higher than the national average (DLHE 2015).

Many of our courses have been accredited by professional bodies, so our students know they have the right skills to impress at interviews.

Our size means we can offer an exceptional range of courses at every level – from Foundation Degrees to PhDs. It also means our links with industry and businesses are hard to beat. We work with world-leaders such as Amazon, the BBC, Hugh James Solicitors, Rolls-Royce and PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

Our students gain high-level skills using on-campus industry-standard equipment, from our Clinical Simulation Centre and Moot Courtroom, to our Crime Scene House and impressive aerospace facilities. We recently extended USW Cardiff to include new design and photographic studios, fashion facilities, and dance and drama spaces.

At the University of South Wales you’ll be taught by inspirational staff, including published authors, prize-winning poets, and practising musicians. Many of our lecturers are producing world-leading research and contributing to advances within their areas of expertise.

This all adds up to an excellent student experience and the best possible start to your future. But that’s not forgetting what happens outside the classroom. South Wales is the perfect location and an exceptional part of the UK, with city life, countryside and coast. Wales is a welcoming place to study, and our students love the friendly atmosphere.

At the University of South Wales, we’re proud of the first-class support on offer, from our Disability and Dyslexia Service to our Student Money Advice Team. We recruit students globally and our graduates work all over the world, building strong careers and making a difference.
