Entry Requirements For This Course

Counselling qualification at diploma level as well as post qualifying counselling experience and/or experience of working with young people.

You must be a registered member of an appropriate professional body, such as the BACP or equivalent. Please upload evidence of this.

A minimum of 100 supervised hours of counselling practice. Please upload evidence of this.

Two references uploaded with your application, one must be from your clinical supervisor. The references must be on letter headed paper or the referee can send them direct from a professional/work email address to admissions@southwales.ac.uk

An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check on the Child & Adult Workforce and Child and Adult Barring Lists and subscription to the DBS Update Service. (Overseas equivalent required for non-uk applicants)

Interview

We want to give you the opportunity to ask us questions that are important to you in addition to us assessing your suitability for the course. This can be via Skype if you are unable to get to campus. Tutors will take time to explain the content of the programme to you and answer questions you have about the course. You will be asked about why you want to study the course and your reasons for choosing USW as well as more detailed questions about your studies and interests.
