The University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN) dates back to 1828 when it was formally named the Institution for the Diffusion of Knowledge. The city of Preston, the home of our main Campus, is located in the heart of the North West and is a mid-sized modern city. Our Preston city campus is compact, benefitting from excellent transport links and is in close proximity to the town centre. There are a further 3 campuses based in Burnley, Westlakes and Cyprus.
The University offers around 500 undergraduate courses which are organised into 5 faculties. These faculties are:
- Lancashire School of Business and Enterprise
- Faculty of Clinical and Biomedical Sciences
- Faculty of Culture and Creative Industries
- Faculty of Health and Wellbeing
- Faculty of Science and Technology
If you want to visit the Preston campus before making your final choices, you can book on to our next Open Day, a Campus Tour Extra, one of our regular Campus Tours or check out our Virtual Tour.
UCLAN’s Student Union runs a wide variety of sports clubs and societies for students to become involved in outside of their academic studies. Students can join societies such as DJ, Burlesque, Circus Skills and Glee Club. Alternatively, if you are more interested in team sports you can become a member of the American Football team, athletics team or cheerleading squad.
