Buckinghamshire New University dates back to 1893, and received university status in 2007. Today it has two campuses, based in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, and Uxbridge, London. The University has a league table ranking of 119 in the Guardian University League Tables 2016.
Bucks New University offers a range of courses which are organised into 2 main faculties. These faculties are:
- The Faculty of Design, Media & Management
- The Faculty of Society & Health
Within these faculties you will also find various departments and schools, which are home to specific courses.
Outside of academic teaching students can become involved in extracurricular activities such as sports clubs or societies. The University hosts a wide range of societies including Blogging, Aviation, Cultural and Enterprise. The sports clubs range from Cricket to Dance, and Netball to Karate.
The University provides student accommodation in halls of residence for students during their first year of study. At the High Wycombe campus there are 885 study bedrooms on offer in their 3 halls of residences with the rent starting at £103.03 for the most basic room. Alternatively if you are based at the Uxbridge campus, you can also live in halls of residences at the High Wycombe campus, but you would have to travel between campuses for lectures and seminars.
