The University of Bradford

The University of Bradford dates back to 1882 when it was formally named Bradford Technical College, and received its official university charter in 1966. The student community at the university is around 17,000 members strong, with almost 4,000 students studying around the globe.

The University is split into five faculties, which are further organised into schools containing the courses available. These five faculties are:

  • Engineering and Informatics
  • Health Studies
  • Life Sciences
  • Management and Law
  • Social Sciences

There are two campuses at the University of Bradford, one being the city centre campus, and the other being Emm Lane Campus based two miles away from the city centre. The Emm Lane campus is dedicated to Management and Law students, and runs a free shuttle bus service to and from the city centre campus. Both campuses offer student accommodation which ranges from £93 per week to £110 per week depending on the type of room that you choose.

On the city campus you will find many facilities for students including a selection of shops and restaurants, a sports centre, study areas and a music centre.

Students can immerse themselves into extracurricular activities such as sports clubs and societies, through the UBU (University of Bradford Student’s Union). The university offer a range of over 90 societies and almost 40 sports clubs.
